Owners Jodie & Rob are the first to admit they’re coffee snobs and unashamedly so! No day out or long walk was ever planned without scoping out the local independent coffee shops in the area first. It became somewhat of an obsession over the years and discussions soon shifted to how amazing it would be to have their own independent coffee house.
Rob is a local lad spending most of his life growing up in Cheam, with Jodie spending the last 10 years living in the area. This local knowledge allowed them to identify a gap in the market for speciality coffee. Many a time they bemoaned the lack of quality options available in the area for takeaway coffees during lockdown walks.
So for them, when a shop came up in the heart of the village, it was a no-brainer. It was time to take the leap and realise their vision.
That vision had some pretty simple components:
- Great tasting speciality coffee
- Delicious baked treats
- A relaxed and welcoming atmosphere
Holders of traditional values Jodie and Rob feel strongly about local community and promoting local economy. That’s why they’ve chosen the suppliers they have, all of which are local family-run businesses just like Domestique. Jodie and Rob’s aim is to create a special community atmosphere where regulars see Domestique as a real focal point in the village and first-time visitors soon become regulars.
Why don’t you come and be part of the Domestique community?
